Legendary Grandma who Achieved Staggering 154-roll Dice Streak
A grandma, managed to roll her dice 154 times without ever hitting a 7 in the process.
What are the odds of rolling a pair of dice a staggering 154 times consecutively without ever getting a 7 during a common game of craps? The answer is around 1 in 1.56 trillion. Although this may lead some gamblers to sceptical waters about the possibility of this actually happening, it did happen for one New Jersey native.
Patricia Demauro has been credited with accomplishing such a feat at the popular Borgata Hotel Casino and Spa in the gambling hub Atlantic City. Overall, the action started by Demauro, who is a proud grandmother, rolled her dice for no less than 4 hours and 18 minutes. Some people her age spend that much time on the can, according to what are the odds.
Stanford University’s stats professor, Thomas Cover, explains how the dice event is actually possible, not matter how unlikely it may seem. Let’s say we have a million gamblers trying a thousand events at any one time. That’s a billion different rolls of craps. The professors concludes that the unlikely event is not “not out of the realm of possibility.”
